The Creative Craft and Therapeutic Centre opened on 4 June 2014.
The Centre offers access for all to every area:
There are two Art & Messy Craft Rooms where daily activities such as paper mache, wire-work, modroc and painting help the Acorn Artists to come up with regular new pieces of artwork to go directly on to the walls (we advise you to go and have a peek-it's fabulous).
A central area for material crafts including up-cycling everyday objects, creating tapestries, weaving and more.
There is an additional Media Room where computer sessions, history, poetry and news updates are held.
Next to that the Sensory Room offers stimulating sessions for all abilities offering opportunities to develop concentration & co-ordination skills with both tactile and visual equipment.
The Therapeutic Theatre is extremely versatile holding African drumming sessions, drama therapy, performances, presentations, film nights, shadow puppetry as well as being turned into incredible Winter Wonderland's over the Festive season. Attached to this is the Technical Side Room which holds the lighting & effects system as well as being a prop storage and dressing room.
The Garden consists of many different scented plants, a raised fish pond and a relaxing area created by adults with learning disabilities to enjoy in the good weather. There are daily gardening sessions, learning how to grow vegetables, plants and maintain a garden.
All of these facilities are available to either hire or attend so please do contact The Centre Manager on 01206 394124 or email
