Missing our families but still finding reasons to keep smiling

Please find a message from our CEO to all of our Acorn families:

Dear All

After what feels like a very long time we are now able to welcome you back to our site for visits.

I can’t imagine how hard it has been to not see your loved one.

I have sent you all of the information regarding how we are planning to make these visits as safe as possible and I know that on paper this can seem overwhelming and nothing like how we would like these relationships to be.
Everything that is vital for our well-being has been restricted, to not hug and kiss the most special people in our lives is such an alien concept and I know how distressing this has been.
I plan to review the risk assessment as soon as the second vaccinations have taken place and where I can, lower these restrictions when appropriate.
As an organisation we are now moving into a recovery phase. Last year our main focus was quite rightly protecting the health of our residents, tenants and staff from this unknown virus and at times this was terrifying.
As we have become more confident in managing the pandemic at Acorn Village and adapting the guidance to meet our specific needs, we can now start to look more clearly at balancing that risk alongside everything else that comes when life is so far from normal.

Social visiting and maintaining those important relationships is one of the most important parts of moving forward to brighter times.

I want to thank you all for your patience and ongoing support and look forward to seeing you all very soon.

Michelle Cook
CEO
