Day Opportunities

Opened in 2014 onsite at Acorn Village thanks to generous donations and legacies, the Creative Craft Centre was purpose built to offer developmental workshops whether booking a full term, a week, a day or a singular session.

We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who donates to make this facility possible, whether it is financially or by providing materials to use within the workshops.

Gardening

In our spacious gardens we have something for everyone, from tending the vegetable patch to maintaining the sensory garden. Enjoy working in the all access polytunnel, allotments, flowerbeds or learning about pond care.

Sensory Room

Sensory sessions take place in our purpose built sensory room.
The space is a state of the art multi-sensory room with features such as infinity mirror, bubble screen, fibre optic curtain and a selection of projectors.

Art

Set within the onsite Creative Craft Centre.
Our vibrant art space is an exciting hive of activity where you can explore a range of art making approaches including: Painting, drawing, model making, mosaics and even furniture up-cycling.

Textiles

Our Textiles area is based in the heart of our Creative Craft Centre creating a busy, inviting, interactive and inspiring environment. Materials are recycled from donations to create unique and exciting client led pieces from cushions to tapestries.

Additional Activities

External professionals come to Acorn Village offering numerous additional activities.

These include singing, sports, music, reflexology, horse-riding, swimming fishing and much more.

Therapy

Art Therapy and Counselling are suitable for anyone who is exhibiting signs of social, behavioural or emotional difficulties.

Community Involvement

Community is at the heart of Acorn Village, from sharing the creative artwork with the public to working in the local community.
