Cooking workshops can be very beneficial for adults with learning disabilities in a range of ways — practical, emotional, and social.
All cooking workshops take place in our brand-new specially adapted Kitchen, 'The Strover Centre'.
Developing Practical Life Skills
- They'll learn essential skills such as meal planning, food preparation, cooking safely, and cleaning up.
- These activities promote independence, helping individuals manage daily life more confidently.
Building Confidence and Self-Esteem
- Completing a dish successfully gives participants a sense of achievement and pride.
- Regular participation can build self-belief and encourage trying new tasks outside the kitchen.
Encouraging Social Interaction
- Cooking in a group fosters teamwork, communication, and cooperation.
- They'll share meals together, which strengthens social connections.
