AIMS
At Day Services we aim to provide inclusive drama workshops that support adults with learning disabilities we want everyone to express themselves creatively, build confidence, and develop social, communication, and emotional skills in a safe and supportive environment. Attendees will have the opportunity to work with drama games, improvisation, role play, props, voice, storytelling, characterisation and devised performance.
OBJECTIVES
• Develop confidence and self-esteem
• Increase communication skills and help the support of development of listening turn-taking skills.
• Develop the imagination and explore stories and themes that are relevant to the attendee’s lives
• Increase decision making skills
• Develop concentration and focus
• To encourage verbal and non-verbal communication through drama games, role play, movement and storytelling
• Strengthen healthy relationships and promote positive social interaction and teamwork through group activities
• Learn to cooperate and work as part of a team
• Develop fine/gross motor skills and coordination
• Develop expression and strengthen emotional health
